Q. Is my Backup Data safe?

A. Your Data is encrypted before it is backed up and stays encrypted at all times while being backed up, stored and restored. This means that even if someone gained access to your data they would not be able to see it or do anything with it because they would need the encryption key.


Q. Business Replicated Backup?

A. We automatically replicate all of your backup data in our business plan. Your primary backup is stored in a secure East Coast data center. Your replicated backup is stored in a secure West Coast data center. This gives you extreme data redundancy and protects you from even a complete data center outage.


Q. How is SAFER Cloud Backup different from file syncing services like Google Drive, One Drive and Dropbox?

A. SAFER Cloud Backup does not sync files. You choose the folders and files on your computer that you want to protect. Whenever the protected files and folders are modified, a backup is made of them. SAFER Cloud Backup supports unlimited versioning, so as long as you have the remaining space in your plan, you can keep as many versions as you want. This can protect you from the worst types of malware like ransomware because even if the malware locks your files, you can just restore a version from before they were locked.


Q. How is SAFER Cloud Backup different from other cloud backup services?

A. We backup your backup so that your backup is stored in two separate secure data centers. SAFER Cloud Backup is typically faster. It is 6x faster than other backup services offering Amazon S3 Backup. The SAFER Cloud Backup client is also more efficient than most backup clients. It splits your encrypted data into chunks that are faster to backup and restore.


Q. Do I have to sign a contract?

A. No, we do not require contracts and you can cancel service at anytime. If you have remaining time left in your subscription, you will be able to continue using the service until your subscription expires.


Q. Is SAFER Cloud Backup HIPAA/HITECH compliant?

A. Yes, our storage provider stores and maintains electronic health records (EHRs) in accordance with the HIPAA and HITECH regulations. Our storage provider also uses security best practices and technologies to ensure the physical security of its facilities and to maintain the privacy and integrity of electronic data and digital records.
